MY VALENTINE
I woke up, leaped out of bed,
and let my legs do the walking.
As if guided by a magnetic pull,
I arrived in a field of wild strawberries.
One luscious strawberry was shaped
like a valentine and had your face on it.
Your naked body covered in stardust
emerged, and gave me the hug
I’ve been waiting for to create
a blazing masterpiece of connection.
The lips of your most delicate parts
smiled knowingly—inviting me
to swim away with you in a river
of aliveness that has no end.
